People talk about how Obama doesn't really articulate his policies. The thing is though, is if he started to do so, people would fall asleep. The American voters have a very small attention span. Look at 2004. Kerry could spout off any number of reasons for why he turned against the Iraq War, but all you heard was 'flip-flopper' and "For the War before he was against it."

Voters today aren't interested in listening to long, thought out ideas and policies. They just want quick sound bites.

SC is right. Generation X, the punk band that was Billy Idol's band before he became a post-punk self-parody, was formed in 1977. In my book, early 70s is the cut-off for Gen X birth years. After that is Gen Y.

The baby boom is generally considered to be from 1946-64. (The first full year of LBJ's administration). Gen X is supposed to be people from 1965-81 (when Reagan took office). Generation Y is supposed to be from 1982 to present.

    Buck,

The baby boomers copyrighted "Previous generations fucked up the country, but our generation is much smarter so we're gonna fix things." Look how that turned out. Just sayin'. I'm pretty sure that attitude has been around since about the second generation of whatever passes for the beginning of human life as we now define it.

Well, none of them are clearly defined. And there's some overlap in the Boomers and Xers in the 1961-64 range.

Hell, surfing Wiki I even found there's a name for that group http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generation_Jones

"So I ate from the stupid tree, at least I didn't kill my brother"

    "You didn't have a brother!"

    "That's it, you're grounded!"
