I'd avoid the term "shootout" this week in Miami, were it me.

That was the first thing that crossed my mind.

The lede only works if Ken O'Brien and Dan Marino were roughly comparable, which they weren't, or if they were known for high-scoring battles against each other, which they weren't. Other than that, great job.

Sept. 21, 1986 Dan Marino and Ken O'Brien combined for an NFL record 884 yards as the Jets pulled off a 51-45 overtime win. Wesley Walker's touchdown reception tied the game at the end of regulation and he also scored the game winner in the extra session. Walker was on the receiving end of all four of O'Brien's TD passes.

Jaime Aron's gamer on the Pokes and Pack is pretty good.

Yep, that's one. Hardly means that they were known for having high-scoring battles against each other.

Those who forget the past are doomed to have their ass kicked on SportsJournalists.com.

I remember the shootouts between O'Brien and Marino well. Yes, they were known for that, and the Jets won their share of them, several in dramatic fashion.

Hell, someone who calls himself Broadway Joe ought to know better.

  11. Well done, da man. Broadway Joe, not so much.
