I am more intrigued by the fact that you went and found a thread from 2007 to post on instead of starting a new thread.

Were you concerned with a db?

    New thread shortage?

    Eh, where did it fit?

Does it deserve its own thread? Should it go on the thread about "What makes a great bar"?

Rushin is quoted. It's his favorite bar. He's a sportswriter.

    I localized it!

I like it. Never realized that Jeff Pearlman was an SJ member.

He had a decent stretch when Air and Space was consistently the best read in SI. It hasn't been on that level for awhile, and a lot of people felt the dip in its quality coincided with him getting together with Lobo...

I enjoy how Mizzou managed to use the unearthing of this thread to re-package the shot he took more than five years ago, while adding a gratuitous slam at the man's wife.

    Well done!

LOL...how else is a man gonna get to 50K posts?

Anyway, now I know why Mr. Barron asked me for Rushin's phone number last week.

If the quality of his work dropped a little after he met, dated and married Rebecca Lobo, I'm sure it was a trade he's happy to make. She's one of the nicest and most intelligent people in sports, and the WNBA is utterly insane to have never begged her to become the league's president.

"most intelligent people in sports" How do you gauge that?

WTF? Is Mickey ("Women weaken legs") Goldmill contributing to this board?

Meeting and marrying the woman you love accounts for some ongoing drop in some scribbler's material? I could see where, oh, a stroke could do that. But a romance?
