    I hope so. He did win the World Series four times.

    Yeah, but he isn't playing palsy-walsy (Berra) or kissing the ring (others), so don't hold your breath until Hal or Hank quit blowing smoke.

    I'm saying he's wrong.

    Rose committed the one act which has carried with it the penalty of permanent expulsion from the game ever since 1876.

    Steinbrenner's crimes were more serious in terms of overall society, but that's what we have a criminal justice system for. If you think Steinbrenner got off too easy on the criminal case, take it up with the legal system.

    A lot of owners are in the Hall of Fame. About two deserve to be: Albert Spalding, who basically invented the idea of major league baseball, and Bill Veeck.

    Other than about those two, nobody ever went to a park to watch an owner own.
