Oh, he absolutely has a point about defenders being forced to go low by the rule changes. Plenty of other players have made the same point, but few people seem to be listening. Probably doesn't help that you have it coming from guys like Meriweather or Ryan Clark of the Steelers. Clark is well-spoken and very well-liked by the Pittsburgh media, but he plays about as dirty as anyone in the game.

Yeah. Meriweather is dirty, no question. But he also has a point. One that few people in the media seem to be getting today. Easier to see those quotes and construct OMG!!! HE SAID HE'S GOING TO TRY TO END PEOPLE'S CAREERS!!!!! headlines.

    Lazy.

Agreed. I guess we haven't seen a big enough name hurt with one of those hits yet. So far, Cobb's broken leg and Heath Miller's blown out knee were clear examples of defenders diving for a receiver's knee.

Ran into Manley several years ago and he was a much nicer person than I had imagined he might be. Maybe not the sharpest knife in the drawer, though.

What? Nobody has posted the YouTube of Manley trying to read in front of Congress?
