I should have figured it was coming when we were told not to get postgame quotes. At roughly 8:40 PM, all those in the field were told that the "evaluation process" was completed by the people from STATS and they concluded that after March 23, we were no longer needed to cover games for these people. Oh well, it was a nice part-time job while it lasted and it gave me the opportunity to interact with other people in the industry. Unfortunately due to the economic nonsense that the scumbags from AIG and Wall Street got us into, it was also my primary source of income for the last few months despite my numerous efforts and applications and resumes to find a day job. (Sigh).

On the bright side, at least they were able to get out of New Jersey.

The location in downtown Jersey City was perfectly fine.

After today, there will be no more editors at SportsTicker, whose history dates back to the Western Union Ticker in the early 20th century. This was long before it was sold down the river by the wonderful suits at ESPN and the wonderful PA group in England.
