KG started it with AT&T, but I figured a new carrier with a new thread...
same thing, I'm going to upgrade my phone this week and want suggestions. Was leaning toward a Kitana Eclipse and away from a Blackberry or something like that, because I like flip phones. Only draw back to the Eclipse is it's kind of set up as an MP3 phone and I could give a shit about that.
However, I also want something that I can use as a modem in a pinch -- but I wouldn't have to buy an unlimited data plan.
    Suggestions?

This is the one I use. It's pretty reliable. Never drops a call.

Oh I get it. That was a joke.

Very much like the funny kind, only different.

  5. paging patchs on cheap sprint plans...

if you get a phone with bluetooth, you should be able to use it as a modem in a pinch. iirc angola described how before. i know places such as best buy sell bluetooth usb adaptors, too, but your computer may not need one. i'll let the more technologically intelligent chime in.

The correct recommendation for a phone with Sprint is. ....
    Drop Sprint! They suck!

Go with Verizon. Less dropped calls and better service.

I haven't had problems with Sprint and my plan is outstanding...

Do I wish I had better coverage in the house? Yes. But that's a problem of my location and I'm not losing the landline any time soon....

I was good with Sprint too. But my employer has a deal with Verizon where I get 18% off everything, including my monthly bill.

    Verizon is good to me.

I got an HTC Touch a couple months back. I love the phone, although, honestly, I'm still struggling on some of the functions. There are times when I wish I still had a simpler phone, but the Internet/Email functions on it get used all the time.
