    Capital city daily newspaper seeks full time sports writer. Paper covers three local high schools and a DII college. Applicant must be able to write game stories, features, previews, columns and form game recaps from box scores. Writers keep their own statistics at games and events. Ability to edit and rewrite submitted copy is a must. Must be able to pitch story ideas, keep coverage balanced and maintain healthy relationships with coaches and athletes. The position often requires working split shifts: copy editing the newspaper before its morning deadline and covering games or going to practices in the evenings. The position also requires working weekends and some holidays. Experience with InDesign pagination is needed. Daily newspaper experience preferred but exceptional work with a weekly or college newspaper will be considered. A willingness to live in Frankfort is preferred.
