    The Tuscaloosa News is looking for an experienced writer to fill a position on its expanding sports staff.

    The job will include coverage of high school and college sports, with an emphasis on the online and multimedia aspects of the job.

    We are looking for a journalist who understands the urgency of the online news cycle, enterprise reporting and the art of storytelling. The position will also include require some light desk work. Salary is negotiable.

    Our plan is to field applications to create a pool of candidates, then narrow that list to finalists who will be interviewed in the coming weeks. All candidates will be notified once the finalists have been identified.

    The Tuscaloosa News is a consistent Associated Press Sports Editors top 10 award-winner (both print and web) with a circulation between 30,000 and 35,000. It is a member of the New York Times Regional Media Group.

    UPDATE: We have narrowed our search to four finalists and will be entering the interview stage next week.
