The Naperville Sun, a Sun-Times News Group daily newspaper located about 30 miles west of Chicago and regular APSE, IPA and NINA award-winner, is seeking an energetic and motivated person for a full-time sports staff writer position.

The job is five days per week (about 37.5 hours/week) and includes a full range of benefits.

Duties include coverage of local high schools as well as some pro and college sports and creative enterprise work; experience and interest in covering amateur and pro golf is preferred but not required.

Some desk editing work may be required.

Please email resume and a few clips (both feature and coverage) to Sun Sports Editor Brad Nolan at bnolan@scn1.com

Last guy with this job jumped to Aurora Beacon-News within the chain.
  3. I'm assuming that's a step up?

In circulation and pay, yes. In quality, not really. Naperville is one of the best small dailies in the country.

Is there any information on whether or not they already have someone in mind for this position?

No. I don't think they publish Saturdays.
