well, at least that person didn't quit the freshman football team.

It would be interesting to find out what event precipitated the walkout.

I'm guessing it was a college football game.

Lol I like how someone assumed it was a woman.

The last sports writer hired was a woman. Since the SE is still there, it narrows down the field of a two-person staff.

Story I was given was she has been actively seeking a job elsewhere since June...sending clips/resume from her work email, no less. She is from Mountain Brook and apparently went to UA. Which means Cullman was the last place on earth she belonged...

Nonetheless, if you're a sports writer and you leave a paper two weeks before football season starts...that's career suicide, no?

Not good all the way around if she was doing that. Yes, leaving just before football season doesn't leave a good impression, much less walking out the way she did.

My understanding is she put in a notice and worked through it.

OK. At least she put in notice and worked through it, even though quitting just before football season still isn't a good thing.

  12. The idea that she -- or anyone -- owes an employer more than two-week notice is crazy. Especially at a job that probably pays poverty wages.
