Join the staff on this growing sports section if you love local sports, thrive under pressure and are looking for a great place to live. We're a daily a.m. in a highly competitive newspaper market. We concentrate on local sports, which in Saratoga runs the gamut from little league to world-class thoroughbred racing. Knowledge about horse racing and ability to paginate are big pluses. Position is primarily writing, with editing and pagination responsibilities as well. We're at the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains, midway between New York City and Montreal. Surface mail cover letter, resume, three references and samples of layout and writing to Sports Editor Brien Bouyea, The Saratogian, 20 Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs 12866 or e-mail letter, resume and references to bbouyea@saratogian.com.

    Jelenic's Reign of Crap.

And I've only been through Saratoga Springs twice on a round-trip bus trip, but it seems like a nice town. Too bad the pay and the product combine to produce such an unappealing job.

Thought Satan worked for JRC. When did it become the other way around?

knew a guy that worked there. won't even get started on the working conditions. but the pay will be so low, you won't be able to live in the "great place to live." but on the upside, you will be able to work/commute to the "great place to live" like six days a week.

regardless how badly you want work, you can find better than this shop.

You could always bet on the horses to sup your income.

  9. Yeah, I know a couple of guys who worked here once. Neither one had anything nice to say about it (the job, not the locale).

No it isn't locked. Thankfully, there haven't be any asses on the thread.
It is JRC, but this is a good shop for the product we (I work at this shop) produce, for the resources we have.
PM for details on the job, place, etc.
