Colbert, that depends on how you look at it. I saw this "behind the music" episode on either MTV or VH1, can't remember which. Anyhow, Sammy Hagar opened for Styx on a show in Texas during the Mr. Roboto tour and really got the crowd going. Then Styx came out and stood there for an eternity in opera-style a la Mr. Roboto. The crowd nearly rioted they were so mad. And Tommy Shaw hated it.

And I'm not saying Mr. Roboto was bad, certainly Ginny in Martinsville is worse. Styx and Sammy Hagar was not a good match for a concert. Heck, Robin Trower opened for Sha Na Na once.

Did they ever name a SE in their recent hiring spurt?

This is from the ad: "The right applicant could be considered for a sports editor job."

So was it the SE that left or they never named one?

Edit: beat me to it meat.

I believe (and in the Big M, you can never be sure) that they hired an SE whose only experience was "glogging" on cbssports.com. It could be that nobody was ever named an SE. I haven't the foggiest.

Say this for Martinsville: they may be crazy as all hell and they pay for shit, but I haven't heard any layoff stories out of the 276 yet.

Tempting, but if I was going to take a pay cut to work in the splendor that is Southside Virginia, I'd go to Danville.
