    Company: the Daily Reporter
    Position:
    Seeking a power-hitting sportswriter
    Location:
    Greenfield, Indiana
    Job Status: Full-time
    Salary: Negotiable

    Description:

The Daily Reporter, an award-winning newspaper in Greenfield, 20 miles east of Indianapolis, is looking for a sportswriter who swings for the fences. Our sports section focuses almost exclusively on local sports, with a heavy emphasis on prep teams; sports figures with local ties; and enterprising reporting on interesting sports- and leisure-related topics. Ours is a two-person lineup: The sportswriter works directly with the sports editor to produce a lively, interesting section five days a week. The ideal candidate will be a strong writer and reporter and be able to cover a lot of ground -- from girls soccer on Wednesday to the big football game on Friday night. Experience in page design (we use InDesign and the Adobe suite) is definitely a plus. If you can knock it out of the park, we'd like to hear from you. Send a cover letter, resume and at least five writing samples to Brian Harmon, sports editor of the Daily Reporter. His email address is bharmon@greenfieldreporter.com. You also can mail materials to this address: 22 W. New Road, Greenfield, IN 46140.
