We offer a great opportunity for the right person! The Enid News & Eagle, an award-winning seven-day A.M. newspaper has an immediate opening for a full-time general assignments and sports writer. We’re looking for someone who likes working with people in a fast-paced environment and is not afraid to ask tough questions, someone who can write in narrative form and loves to tell a compelling story. This writer will also help cover some sports for our newspaper, writing features on local sports figures and covering a variety of sports events. Our newspaper also provides opportunities for multi-media work with video and online content production. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, preferably in journalism or liberal arts. Experience at a weekly or daily newspaper is preferred, and page design experience is also a plus. Enid is a progressive community located in northwest Oklahoma about an hour from Oklahoma City and 1.5 hours from Tulsa. CONTACT: Send cover letter, resume and clips to Kevin Hassler, associate editor, at enidnews@enidnews.com. You may also mail these items to Kevin at Enid News & Eagle, 227 W. Broadway, P.O. Box 1192, Enid, OK 73702.

I think Enid has had to starve through most of basketball season with just two people. Glad they finally freed up that frozen spot. Or maybe stress became excessive and CNHI killed one of the two who were there.

    You're hired!

Which is SportsJournalists.com slang for, "The ad's like a week old. Nobody moves that quickly on a hire. Get your clips in the mail Monday if you're that desperate to move nowhere."
