The Las Cruces Sun-News is seeking a sports reporter/page designer to serve on our sports desk. The successful candidate should have strong command of written word, knowledge of Associated Press style and an ability to design lively pages.
A college degree in journalism or related field is required. Daily newspaper experience is preferred, however, candidates with strong weekly experience will be considered.

The Sun-News is a 25,000-circulation newspaper located in beautiful southern New Mexico, close to El Paso, Texas and Mexico. Major high school sports encompass the area as well as New Mexico State University.

Candidates may mail resume and clips to the Las Cruces Sun-News, 256 W. Las Cruces Ave., Las Cruces, New Mexico 88004, attention: Sports Editor Teddy Feinberg or email to: tfeinberg@lcsun-news.com.

Yeah, but there's that pre-employment drug testing. I guess that means they're looking for a candidate from outside the region.

So there are no journalists in the region who don't use drugs?

Um, just making a joke about one of the sleaziest, most drug-ridden towns in the country. Never mind.

The new sports editor has held one previous full-time journalism job: nine months at the SE at the Roswell Daily Record.
