    circulation size?

  3. Its circulation is around 17,000.
The paper's owner is Belo Corp.

  4. It's basically the lil bro of DMN.

Only 17K? With all the bad things happening the past few years with Belo, is this a position anyone beyond a recent college grad should seek?

If you think this job is a stepping-stone to the DMN, forget about it. Only 2 writers have jumped there in the last 7 years.

  7. You had to know it was just a matter of time before football_bat was going to jump on this one...

Doesn't the DMN use the RC's North Texas material?

  9. Brett Vito's the UNT beat for the Record-Chronicle, and the DMN uses his stories.

Not necessarily asking that. Is that a place that's worthwhile checking out given the problems with that company?

That is a very generous assessment. More like the odd-shaped cousin kept in the basement. Former employee here...

I wonder if Denton (or Dallas) ever did a definitive Von Erich story. Big time high school athletes, turned into big time wrestlers by father Fritz, then most of them got into drugs and killed themselves. Kevin's the only one left, and I think he made his peace with wrestling fairly recently (he showed up at an episode of Monday Night Raw a few months ago or so).
