    Description:

    The Times-Mail in Bedford, IN is seeking a part-time Sports Writer to join our team. You will be responsible for the daily coverage of local sports teams, including writing, editing, reporting and travel.

    We’re looking for a candidate who has at least 5-7 years of beat writing experience and reporting; as well as someone who has experience working under extreme deadlines. A Bachelor’s Degree is required

    Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Working knowledge of relevant college sports

    • Essential writing, reporting and editing journalism skills

    Essential Functions:

    • Write about and report on assigned local sports team

    • Travel

    • Other duties such as editing, designing and reporting within the sports department

    Working Conditions:

    • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, talking, listening and repetitive motion
