Our Sports team needs a full-time digital-savvy Web editor who can help run our Web sites and digital content products and help drive Freep.com traffic and site authority to the next level, making the Free Press the must-use digital source for news and information in Michigan.

We’re looking for a driven person who loves to know the news first and be the first to tell it. We're looking for a Web editor who relishes the interaction with our community in the digital world, and finds news and information in new ways.

This person will have a passion for sports, a deep knowledge of sports and immerse themselves 24/7 in sports.

This person will have strong editing and news judgment skills, be able to write compelling, accurate and digital-appropriate headlines and make confident, smart decisions on story publication and play to keep freep.com and other platforms active and urgent. This editor will handle digital content production. This editor will look beyond traditional news sources seeking out news and information that is relevant, useful or entertaining to our audience. At times this staff member will gather the news that needs to be reported, and will need to have the skills to write informative and entertaining stories, listicles and whatnots.

This person must be able to multi-task and to handle basic tools of the digital era. This includes an ability to work in our systems for handling content of stories, photos and videos as well as sending text alerts, e-mail alerts, push alerts or using tools to create polls, quizzes or interactive maps. The staffer will need to become fluent at interpreting data. They will need to keep tabs on our rapidly multiplying Apps and mobile platforms.

Our digital presence must be strong in social media. We seek candidates with demonstrated abilities in, and passion for, social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Storify, Instagram and Pinterest.

Our Web team covers nearly a 24-hour time period each day. This Web editor's assignment will include night and weekend hours.

With all the FOX people out of work, they should have quite a few quality candidates.

Is that the right link? I'm getting a page saying "This job cannot be viewed at this time. It has either been deleted or is no longer available for application. For more job opportunities, please click here."
