    Description:
    The San Diego Union-Tribune is seeking a uniquely talented Web Developer / Content Producer, Sports to design, develop, and maintain innovative sports-related web sites, web applications, and products that appeal to local audiences and drive traffic to SignOnSanDiego.com. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to use state of the art technology to build dynamic web pages and applications.
    The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three to five years experience building Web sites plus two years combined experience in object oriented languages such as Python, Java, C#, or Ruby. Experience using HTML, XHTML, CSS, AJAX, and/or JavaScript to build sleek, user-friendly and intuitive front-ends for data-driven Web applications is required. A minimum of one-year experience programming in Python; experience with other similar scripting languages such as JavaScript, Ruby and/or Perl are also helpful. The ideal candidate will have experience using version-control for source code and is comfortable using both SQL and MySQL. PostgreSQL would be OK. Ability to use Adobe Flex and/or Actionscript 2/3 a plus. Strong editing, grammar and online writing skills are required. A strong interest in local sports a plus.
