The Herald Times Reporter located in Manitowoc, Wisconsin has an exciting opportunity for a Sports Supervisor. Our Sports Supervisor oversees reporters and freelancers to plan, execute and direct local and national sports coverage both daily and Sunday.



The position is responsible to assign stories along with the visual content and design of the Sports section and related special sections, to report and submit stories of local interest, and work with other sources and newsroom departments to cover print and online Sports.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field and five-plus years of editorial experience in a newspaper setting. Prior experience as a sports reporter is preferred along with one to two years supervisory experience. Comparable education and experience will be considered. Candidates must have strong written, verbal, interpersonal and time management skills along with a thorough understanding of all principles of quality journalism.



The HTR was one of three dailies honored this year for General Excellence in our circulation category (up to 25,000) by the Wisconsin Newspaper Association. Manitowoc is situated on the shore of Lake Michigan between Milwaukee and Green Bay.
