Sports Shouting spoof on 30 Rock

So Mrs. Bobcat and I finally got around to sitting on our asses on the couch Sunday night and watching the new episode of 30 Rock. A lot of laughs. Unlike some other NBC comedies, 30 Rock is not jumping the proverbial shark and is remaining relevant and, uh, funny. And this week, nothing made me laugh harder than Sports Shouting.

For those of you who have not seen the episode, picture in your mind a screen capture of Around the Horn, only with more generic versions of Kevin Blackistone, Tim Cowlishaw, Jay Mariotti and Bill Plaschke on the screen at the same time, and with said more generic versions of Blackistone, Cowlishaw, Mariotti and Plaschke all shouting at the same time. All right. Poke fun at a decent concept gone wrong long ago. NBC jabs ABC. Funny.

    But, wait, there's more.

    "World Cup qualifying scores: SWE 0 DEN 0 / GER 0 POL 0 / ..."

"Jacksonville residents no longer aware of Jaguars"

"Frozen Ted Williams signs 100-year extension with ..."

"Extreme MLb to feature real bulls in bullpen"

And ... "KC Royals accidentally left off 2010 MLB schedule"

    Funny ish.

Underneath each of said more generic sports writers are crawls with fake news headlines, many of which were funny by themselves.
