The Daily Journal in Vineland, N.J., seeks an experienced sports reporter with a passion for journalism. We need an inquisitive interviewer and talented writer who loves telling great sports stories. Our newspaper, website (thedailyjournal.com) and other digital products are the go-to information sources for sports fans in our community. Our focus is on high school athletics with a special emphasis on football, wrestling, baseball and basketball — and on hometown hero and baseball superstar Mike Trout. Candidates should have at least two years of experience covering sports for a daily or weekly newspaper. They must be comfortable balancing several tasks simultaneously, writing quickly on deadline, developing beats, cultivating sources, and reporting stories through Twitter and other digital platforms.
