We're trying to build a top 10 APSE community sports section and website, and we need a lottery pick. First and foremost, you must be a strong storyteller. You know sports is about people, not statistics. Other key skills: social media, multimedia, copy editing, page design, Spanish. Send resume, work samples and reference. This is a full-time position with good company benefits. We are a progressive, family-owned company that sees the opportunities for growth. A 27,000-circulation daily in South Texas about 30 miles from the Gulf of Mexico, our newspaper is close to the beach and the big, fun cities of Austin, San Antonio, Corpus Christi and Houston. To join our team, send your resume, work samples and cover letter to the Victoria Advocate, attention Managing Editor Thomas Martinez at tmarintez@vicad.com or mail to 311 E. Constitution, Victoria, TX 77901.

Victoria is not a terribly expensive place to live. And for whomever lands this job, that is a very good thing.

Has anyone heard anything new about this one? I emailed last week to follow up and never heard back. Thanks.
