Moddy, the stuff being said about the town and the job is pretty much straight. The biggest problem is the editor, who won't leave the sports guys alone to do their jobs.

My only experience with Douglas was the interview, but he did strike me as a "hands on" guy. Hearing that he is somewhat of a micro-manager comes as no surprise.

    Uh, Michael's dad.
Was murdered in Lumberton. Not far from my TR6 gas station.

He was murdered while sleeping in his car on the side of a road out in the county (read: backwoods) somewhere.

Yeah, just happened to be sleeping in his car on the side of the road...a random act...

Moddy, my bad. Couldn't remember his dad's name. Also, you know the Robesonian is famous for the newsroom being held hostage by by a pair of Indian activists in 1988.

That would be Eddie Hatcher. Ask The Fayetteville Observer's Sammy Batten about that one. He was one of the hostages.

Sammy "The King" Batten, my roommate by the way.

Certainly a prince among sportswriters, if not The King. Super, super guy.

Follow up question: Did that paper get out the next day and who big do you play your own newsroom being held hostage.

    My vote: VERY BIG.
