A position here was filled in late October: http://www.sportsjournalists.com/forum/threads/79104/. It also appears they're looking for a sports editor: http://www.sportsjournalists.com/forum/threads/80632/.

Like with all the gigs in Cali, any idea on the pay? Will the hiree be able to afford to take it?

Seems to be a lot of turnover at their paper, as noted with the previous recent listings. I don't know. ???

Lancaster/Palmdale is definitely a suburb, but the California desert is a whole lot cheaper than other places, like Sacramento, the IE, LA, San Diego or the Bay Area. It's not going to be as inexpensive as some of the other desert communities, but it isn't that bad.

It really seems like some people here don't read any of the past threads before erroneously speculating.

Here's a hint, kiddies: Do some research. Use teh googles.

I will say the recent turnover here is more of people changing their career paths than it being a bad place to work. The pay isn't great, but the opportunity to write and work on a large staff is unparalled at papers this size.
