A portion of this job -- business of sports -- was previously held by Sarah Talalay, who is entering a training program with the U.S. State Department.

Talalay was listed as a member of the business section but earlier had been part of the sports department.

Has this job been filled? Mizzou asked about the preps job from March, so just wondering ...

They promoted from within. Apparently, every (non-preps) opening has been filled this way since 2007.

    All,

Please join me in congratulating Craig Davis in moving into a new role: covering sports business and enterprise for both Fort Lauderdale and Orlando. Craig fills the role previously held by Sarah Talalay. This change is effective immediately.

Craig has filled a variety of roles in 33 years in the Sun Sentinel sports department, from covering community sports and outdoors, writing columns and features, to serving on the desk as copy editor, slot person and lead designer. For the past 1 1/2 years he has covered high school sports and an array of participant sports including running, swimming, cycling, triathlons, equestrian, beach volleyball and curling. Craig also has extensive experience filling in on Marlins, Panthers and other professional sports, which is certain to serve him well as he works with all our beat writers in his new duties.

We will fill Craig’s former position.

How likely will it be internally? Seems like three of the last four for the Sentinels have been in-house.
