Description:

The Sparks Tribune is looking to fill either one full-time or two part-time sports reporter(s) by Sept. 1.

The sports reporter will cover Sparks-area high schools and community sports. This reporter should be willing to build relationships in the community and cultivate sources as well as dig deeper into local issues within the newspaper's niche of high school and community sports.

The reporter should be willing to use social media and smart phone technology to complement the paper's coverage. Individuals must be highly motivated and hard working.

The Sparks Tribune is located in Sparks, Nevada, immediately adjacent to Reno. It is 45 minutes from Lake Tahoe, two hours from Sacramento, Calif. and 3-plus hours from the San Francisco Bay area. A full-time sports reporter position will offer a full benefits package. The salary will be dependent on an applicant's abilities and experience.
