    Description:

    Due to retirement, we're looking for a dedicated Sports Reporter who has a love of high school sports and small town living. Local sports is a franchise the we take very seriously and candidates must have the capability to build relationships with coaches, fans and players alike.

    We are looking for someone with strong reporting skills; photography ability and page design experience are a definite plus. With the right motivation, this would be an excellent opportunity for a recent grad to hone his skills under the tutelage of a seasoned editor and news team.

    The Payson Roundup is an award winning, twice weekly with a loyal readership and a strong and growing web presence. We are located in Payson, AZ, at 5000 feet and at the gateway to the largest Ponderosa Pine forest in the world where hunting, fishing, camping, hiking opportunities abound. We enjoy year round moderate temperatures yet, we’re only one and a half hours to downtown Phoenix.

    Don't know much about the paper, but the town of Payson is in a beautiful part of Arizona. Especially if you love the outdoors.

    It became a bit of a boom town in the 1990s and 2000s; not sure how it's rebounded from the recession. Rent/cost of living could be pricey.
