Ottawa Delivered, a dynamic and growing hyperlocal online/print news service in North Central Illinois has an immediate opening for a full-time sports writer/editor who is passionate about high school athletics and steeped in multimedia storytelling and social media. The perfect candidate is talented, driven, organized and productive in churning out accurate and compelling copy fast. You will work hard, set your own agenda and find new ways to cover the sports that matter to this small Midwestern city. You will write daily game coverage for the web and thoughtful features and weekly recaps for the weekly print product. You will cover the stories, shoot the photos, make the videos and use social media to distribute them and build your fan base. You will help with layout and production. You will be surrounded by a young, passionate and fun staff that is dedicated to reimagining the way local media is delivered. Average need not apply. One year of experience with a daily newspaper or online news service preferred, but will consider candidates with excellent internship experience. Local candidates will receive top priority. If this sounds like you, send a cover letter, resume and clips to sdiogo@ottawadelivered.com.

Is it cliche to say you want to do "new" journalism but it's just doing video or social media work?
