First off, a sincere thank you to everyone for the kind words.

Secondly, I couldn't possibly endorse this opening more. I never planned to spend just 18 months in Knoxville. It took an unbelievable opportunity like the one I received to pull me away from a great paper, great staff, great job and great town.

For what it's worth, I had a year's worth of internship experience at two separate shops and two full years, post-college, on an SEC beat when I accepted the Knoxville position.

There are some who are. Jeff Darlington, Andy Staples and Wright Thompson are three guys who were the main guy on SEC beats shortly after, (or in Darlington's case) shortly before, graduation. I'm sure there are others as well...

All of those guys had a shitload of experience when they were in college though.

    Andrew,

As I noted on one of the Vol boards, your departure is a loss for us fanbois. Congratulations on the onwards-and-upwards...and congrats on finally getting 500 miles away from Wes.

Land this gig and you will be able to look for a "good job" for your next gig.

Last guy stayed there a whole 18 months ... telling.

Ripping on as many jobs as you've ripped on today takes away all your credibility.

Is Gutenberg really the 12th incarnation of doodah?

Do you think Doodah could spell "Gutenberg?"
