Job Title: Sports Writer
Location: Crystal Lake, IL

The Northwest Herald, a daily media outlet in Chicago's far northwest suburbs, is seeking a sports reporter who can provide local sports coverage and unique enterprise content for our many formats, from digital to social media to print.

We want a reporter who is driven to go beyond the results and explore sports issues throughout our coverage area while also breaking news and providing extensive coverage of our local and high school sports scene, including bringing robust content to our high school sports page at McHenryCountySports.com.

The ideal candidate will be an idea person who has experience breaking news, producing unique enterprise content and engaging readers digitally.

Our department has a strong tradition of developing innovative journalists. We plan for that tradition to continue.

Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license, dependable transportation and proof of insurance.
