  2. Used to live in New Bern about 14 years ago. Stayed for about a year. It's a nice little town, certainly nicer than most around it. Can't say a whole lot about the job or the shop since whatever I know of it was 13 years ago. But it's a nice little family town within about 30 minutes, if memory serves, of a nice college town. I am assuming the hire here will be younger, so East Carolina Land will be more their speed, party wise.

    There's a lot of two-lane road and a massive speed trap between New Bern and Greenville. It's not a drive you would want to do every day or back from ECU after a night of partying. Still, it's under an hour to the beach and under 15 minutes to Havelock if you feel the urge to get your ass kicked. That said, New Bern does have sommmme things going for it on the waterfront.

    They had a 3A state champion in football (Havelock) last year. Been through New Bern plenty of times on the way to the beach. Nice town, just a bit isolated like a lot of Eastern NC.
