The Mail Tribune, an award-winning seven-day daily newspaper in beautiful Southern Oregon, seeks a full-time, versatile sports reporter to cover everything from NAIA college sports to youth and community sports and to help on the desk. High school sports are king in our area and we treat them as such. We’re looking for a well-trained reporter able to write accurate and engaging event stories on deadline, entertaining features, accompany stories with video, post regularly to social media and handle phone duties on busy prep nights.

We’re growing our company under a new owner and are excited about expanding our digital offerings. The successful candidate will have design and copy editing experience to fill in on the desk as needed and be a courteous team player. Shifts will include nights and weekends, but those duties are also shared with other members of the staff.

We offer a competitive benefits package, vacation and sick leave, plus a supportive environment for reporters to develop their talents. Experienced reporters are preferred, but strong entry level candidates will be considered. Please send cover letter, resume and five of your best clips to Sports Editor Tim Trower at ttrower@mailtribune.com. Deadline is Monday, July 3.
