    Company: News and Tribune
    Position: Seeking future All-Star
    Location: Louisville (metro area), Indiana
    Job Status: Full-time
    Salary: Not Specified
    Ad Expires: September 12, 2006

    Description:
Enjoy the flexibility of a small newsroom with a major metro area a stone’s throw across the Ohio River.
This is one of the best sports regions in all of the country and a perfect opportunity to show your skills. Possible assignments include covering Hoosier hoops or the Kentucky Derby but local athletes are our daily stars.

The New Albany Tribune and Jeffersonville Evening News (14,000 daily) are searching for a sports writer with experience in a daily newsroom that can bring some creativity and diversity to daily community sports coverage.

These are community newspapers (with a common sports section) focused on providing top-notch local coverage with regional angles mixed in on IU and Louisville. We focus on people and the real emotion of sports with limited play-by-play action. Applicants must be able to make stories entertaining when possible and include lots of entry points such as breakouts and photos. Web experience and knowledge is a bonus.

Send work samples and resume quickly to Executive Editor Steve Kozarovich/Tribune & Evening News, 303 Scribner Drive, New Albany, IN 47150. E-mail submissions should be sent to Newsroom@newsandtribune.com. Basketball season is right around the corner!
