The Los Angeles Times is seeking a reporter to help cover baseball and soccer, as well as other sporting events. Knowledge of sports is necessary but sportswriting experience is not. Fluency in Spanish is preferred.

To apply, send resume and clips to:

    Randy Hagihara
    Senior Editor/Recruitment
    The Los Angeles Times
    202 W. First St.
    Los Angeles, CA 90012

Have a feeling we're going to be seeing even more of these in the near future, especially in Florida, Texas and Calif.

Wow, I cannot recall the last time I saw the L.A. Times advertising for a job.

    Ditto.

Maybe one of those 40 San Jose folks will be fortunate enough to land on his/her feet soon -- in L.A.?

"baseball and soccer" is pretty vague.

    Interesting. . .

Maybe they are just trying to find a fluent Spanish speaker who can work a Spanish-speaking athletes beat?

Usted es bastante bueno trabajar en los tiempos, as.

  10. Sobretodo, si tiene usted soltura "hablabing espanol," (las palabras de Steve Lyon) va a ser mas facil que conseguir un trabajo con los diarios. Solomente la verdad.
