The Sentinel-Record newspaper in Hot Springs, Arkansas, has an immediate opening for a sports reporter position. Candidates must be able to report from live sporting events, produce stories on deadlines and develop additional features.

Our coverage includes more than a dozen area high schools, two four-year universities, a new NJCAA sports program, the Oaklawn Park race track, the Arkansas Razorbacks and a number of other community sports interests.

Former sports editor Bob Wisener stepped down six months ago, but remains a steady contributor to the newspaper and is still one of the best horse racing writers in the country. The vacant position focuses on game coverage throughout the year, mostly in high school sports, but with opportunities for other events.

Candidates must have background knowledge in a variety of sports and be comfortable working with coaches, athletes and administrators. Page design experience is a plus, but not a requirement.

Applicants should submit resumes and writing samples to mark@hotsr.com.
