Sports Reporter @ Freeport Journal Standard

Discussion in 'Journalism Jobs' started by Prince of Persia, Oct 30, 2007.

  1. I think this has been open a couple of times in the past couple of years. From jjobs.com:

The Journal-Standard, a 13,000 circulation morning daily based in Freeport, IL, is seeking a sports reporter. You will cover local prep and youth sports and our local raceway and write weekly outdoor and recreational features. Knowledge of Quark and InDesign CS2 is preferable. Are you motivated, professional and willing to learn? Do you strive to be the best? If so, our newsroom is the place for you. Talented newcomers encouraged to apply.

The guy who left had only been there since August. Gatehouse owns it. I've never worked there but have had a could of friends run kicking and screaming after only a couple of weeks.

Make sure your valuables are secure if you go in for an interview here.
