    Thanks for all the responses. Interesting all around. How long has the News been without a Sunday edition? Do they still publish stories online? No Sunday edition in a city like Detroit still baffles me.

    It used to be reversed. Both papers publish weekdays with the Freep getting Saturday and the News Sunday.

    That was when Gannett owned the News. When they bought the Freep, things switched. Both papers publish six days now, but only the Freep gets the Sunday paper.

    Gannett bought the Freep about three years ago, IIRC.
