    Description:

    SPORTS REPORTER

Forsyth County News, a 12,000 circulation newspaper (3-days) located in Forsyth County Georgia is looking for a creative, energetic reporter to cover high school sports and other recreation. There’s also the opportunity to cover the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons and college football (Georgia, Georgia Tech).

We are looking for someone who can turn a game story (on deadline) that tells a reader more than who, what, where, why and when. We want someone who has the imagination and creativity to keep our readers informed and entertained. We want someone who has strong ethics and the ability to work well with our team.

Knowledge of AP style is required. Proficiency with In Design, Photoshop and social media is a plus. Experience or willingness to learn how to shoot short, smart video clips would be a strong plus.

Our market focuses on Forsyth County, near the beautiful North Georgia Mountains and only 40 miles from the many amenities of Atlanta. Our coverage area approximates 150K population and has 6 high schools.

Our compensation package includes competitive pay, medical, dental, and life.

Send letter, résumé and at least five clips to Brian Paglia, sports editor, at bpaglia@forsythnews.com.

True, but I certainly hope this isn't the climax for one's career.
