SPORTS REPORTER: The Daily Pilot, a 30,000-circulation paper in Newport and Costa Mesa, has an opening for a sports reporter. We are looking for someone who can craft both an on-deadline game piece and delve more deeply into the strange world of community sports. The paper's sports coverage includes youth, high school and college. The Pilot is part of Times Community News, a division of the Los Angeles Times where we have a proven track record of providing the community with valuable news, winning awards and making journalists better. E-mail resume, cover letter and clips to editor S.J. Cahn at s.j.cahn@latimes.com.

Riddick, if you see this, it's Costa Mesa, if you could fix the title. Might make a difference to some, since there's also a La Mesa, for example.

Did they repost the ad, or is this a D_B?

The ad before was for sports editor. Don't know if they promoted someone and now are filling that person's spot.
