A good area, good people, and they do care about their sports. One of the few places where high school baseball is still huge, although Chambersburg's head coach just retired after 51 years (!) and 800-plus victories.

They cover 12 schools, six public in Franklin County (Chambersburg, Greencastle-Antrim, Waynesboro, James Buchanan, Shippensburg, Fannett-Metal), three private around Chambersburg (Cumberland Valley Christian, Shalom Christian, Mercersburg Academy) and three in rural Fulton County to the west (McConnellsburg, Southern Fulton, Forbes Road).

Division II Shippensburg University is 10 miles up the road, a national player in a number of sports. Wilson College is in town, low D-III but just added men's sports including basketball and soccer.

And SE Ed Gotwals is one of the better people you'll meet in the business.

    It is Gannett.
