    C'mon, this is a no-brainer.

Bottineau (population 2,211) is 10 miles south of the Canadian border.

Founded as Oak Creek in 1883 then changed to Bottineau a year later, after Pierre Bottineau. They've immortalized him in bronze and made him look like Jebediah Springfield.

"Tommy Turtle" is the largest turtle in the world, built in 1978 and standing 30-feet tall.

Bottineau hosts North Dakota's oldest county fair.

    Some of its acclaimed residents:

    * Gregory Page, CEO of Cargill.

    * Duane Klueh, former Indiana State men's hoops coach about 10 years before Bird arrived and had a 182-122 record in 12 seasons. He also coached ISU's tennis program to 278 wins. As a stud player in the '40s he was drafted by the Celtics (NBA) and Indianapolis Jets in the same year but didn't play for either team.

Your compliment embiggens my spirit -- thank you! -- but I'm going to defer and say that early #POY14 belongs to Lancey Howard and his 6-point buck on page 18 of the Ukraine thread.
