    Company: The Bulletin
    Seeking General Assignment Sports Reporter
    Bend, Oregon
    Job Status: Full-time
    Salary: Not Specified
    Website: http://www.bendbulletin.com

The Bulletin, a 30,000 circulation daily newspaper in Central Oregon, is looking for a resourceful, enthusiastic and imaginative reporter to serve as a general assignment sports reporter with an emphasis on covering prep sports. This reporter will work for both The Bulletin in Bend and its weekly sister newspaper, The Redmond Spokesman.

The successful candidate will become part of The Bulletin's sports staff, which covers everything from traditional sports to the offbeat and extreme, with particular emphasis on participation sports. The ideal candidate will be a stickler for accuracy and will work well on deadline. He or she will also go beyond the scoreboard to find the story.

This person should be able to conceptualize the multimedia components that might complement their stories, including video, audio and slideshow elements. Ideally this person will have experience using social media sites, including Facebook and Twitter. Experience with computer-assisted reporting preferred.

The Bulletin is an independent, family-owned newspaper in Bend, a vibrant city, population 80,000, surrounded by snow-capped mountains and stellar outdoor recreation. The Bulletin is a drug-free workplace and an equal opportunity employer.

To apply, please email cover letter, resume and writing samples to: sportsreporter@bendbulletin.com. No phone inquiries please.
  2. Pretty sure this is still open. Good landing spot for someone right out of school or a guy or gal looking to move up from a weekly.
