Pretty little mountain town with lots of outdoors opportunities. Just about all the coverage will be preps and youth sports. Ideal place for newbie to cut his teeth. Closest town with a mall is Altoona, about 30 miles away. Pittsburgh is 100 miles to the west, Philly is 200 miles to the east.

 

Depending on where you live in Bedford, you might even be closer to Cumberland, Md., than Altoona.

I wouldn't expect to be going to the mall frequently on the salary you'll be making, though. You might want to get a side job working the strip in Breezewood, or something.

 

What do you think the pay is for a small town deal like this? Their website doesn't have a sports section either.

 

Last I checked, their news reporters were starting at $18k.
