Congratulations to Adam Lawson, who tweeted he has accepted the job:

Hopefully, some of our Minot alumni can give him some advice.

IIRC he had some classic posts on here last fall or winter.

Hope he found an apartment. Also, buy a winter coat now because you'll need it in early September.

I know a lot of people will be scoffing, but good luck to the kid. It seems like he might be going in with the right attitude. Perhaps he won't get beaten down and spit out like so many others.

Minot is a decent city and isn't a bad place to start out. Hopefully the new SE will be a good teacher.

Congrats to Adam. We're really looking forward to him joining the staff. He's coming in from North Carolina with a great mindset.

Daniel Allar came from Indiana and I came from Virginia. Minot is a good area and we are still looking for one more person to round out the staff. It doesn't really matter where you start, but how you approach it. There's plenty of good stories here for those willing to work at it.

If interested in being pushed by others also trying to improve as reporters, send us your stuff at sports@minotdailynews.com.

    Thanks

We're still looking to fill our fourth position. This person will cover preps, primarily, and some junior hockey and Division II Minot State University athletics.

Please send clips and resume to tchapman@minotdailynews.com

Doesn't it snow up there once in a while?
