    That's the $64,000 question ... no one seems to know, and he's not telling even his closest friends from AP ... also, his Facebook and Twitter accounts have gone silent since this happened ... talked to one guy who had talked to Mike after his departure, and while he said Mike was OK, he didn't know much more than that ...

  4. It's Guild, so the scale used to be available online...not sure it is anymore.

    Generally speaking, AP pays well, I believe.

    FYI -- Steve Reed, the Panthers beat writer at the Gaston Gazette, landed the Charlotte AP job ... he began work this week (although he had been providing their in-week Panthers coverage since the season began) ...

    No Carolina Hurricanes coverage? OR a separate bureau in Raleigh for that and NC State?

    Yes, I think Joedy McCreary handles the Hurricanes and the Triangle schools.
