The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is seeking a versatile and energetic two-year associate to cover high school sports and other general assignments/sports business.

Our staff covers more than 130 schools across Western Pennsylvania, and the ideal candidate would work diligently to build familiarity with these schools and have a working knowledge of all sports. Duties include but aren’t limited to game/event coverage, feature writing, seasonal notebooks and off-beat stories that catch the eye of audiences in the digital age. An understanding of basic digital publishing and SEO principles, as well as social media and its importance, is a must.

This position requires a flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends. Those interested should email examples of work, a resume and a cover letter to Assistant Managing Editor/Sports Tyler Batiste at tbatiste@post-gazette.com
