    What kind of cost of living are we talking about here? $1,000/month for an apartment?

    Housing costs depend on location and how much space you need. $1K/mo. isn't unheard of, but you can certainly find apartments for less.

    Thing is, you won't be able to do much until you're actually on the island. Lots of haoles dream of moving out to paradise, but actually doing is much more complicated.

    I've known a few people who've taken a job in Hawaii and regretted it. Of course they weren't making much money and were shocked at the high cost of living.
