We are a 4,200 circulation weekly newspaper located 80 miles from Nashville, 40 miles from Paducah and 40 miles from Clarksville at the eastern entrance to Land Between the Lakes. Our newspaper is seeking a person to fill the slot of sports editor/general assignment reporter with sports as main focus. Our small high school has a full array of sports including some state championships. The position will need someone who is not only versatile in sports, but has good knowledge of general news as they will be the person to cover city government and school news. We use the latest software on Mac computers. A knowledge of InDesign (or Quark) is a big, BIG plus and will earn the top dollar. Our weekly newspaper is owned by Paxton Media LLC and offers the right person benefits that you won’t find on many newspapers. This is an ideal position to learn several aspects of what makes a weekly newspaper tick and prepare yourself for one of our 26 dailies or 68 other weeklies. Immediate opening with full benefits. A Paxton Media LLC newspaper.

Yeah, you should see the area.

Don't get me wrong, I grew up not too far from there and will always call it home, but it's not the most happening part of the state.

And I like that they mention Paxton twice. Can't say you weren't warned.

I think I know what the extra benefits you won't find at other papers are:

You get to go to work every day, not knowing whether they decided to cut your position overnight.

The Cadiz paper is small enough that there's no sports coverage if they cut this position.

True. But don't put anything past Paxton.

Coming to a Paxton newspaper near you: Letting you make AND report the news. :D

I've never experienced Gatehouse, so no I didn't mean to change it.

But I don't doubt what you say.
